3 Ways To Find True Happiness In Your Life

A lot of people struggle with finding happiness in their lives. They often think that they’ll find it in other people or materialistic things.

The problem with trying to find happiness in things other than yourself is that you’re able to lose it, since you’re attaching your happiness to people or objects. Also, you won't be truly happy, because you need someone/something in your life to maintain that happiness.

Basically, happiness is a sort of ‘source’ where every positive emotion flows from. There are certain ways to find and create everlasting happiness in your life from which you will sow the benefits for the rest of your life.


1. Count your blessings

We often want to escape our own life and find happiness in the activities that we do, and in the people that we hang around with. Everybody needs an occasional break from their day-to-day life to feel ‘refreshed’ and there is nothing wrong with that.

However, there is something wrong when you want to escape your life. This often means that you’re not appreciating what you have in life.

You’re probably getting so caught up with the problems that you have in your life that you forget that there also good things that you should appreciate.

Most often, the positive things far outweigh your problems, but since we focus so much on the negative we tend to overcomplicate it. That’s why you should start every day with a gratitude ritual.

For example, every morning spend at least 5 minutes just focusing on things in your life that you are grateful for. Focus on the positive and watch your life change!


2. Self-acceptance

It’s unbelievable how we downplay our own accomplishments, just because we were taught since an early age not to show our pride ‘too much’ about our achievements.

However, there is actually nothing wrong with sometimes showing off and being proud of what you’ve done.

If you’re a person who loves to show his/her accomplishments to others, then by all means, don’t hold back!

Showing your proudness to others is just one of the many examples.

There are many things in life that we hold back on purpose, just because we’re afraid of what other people might think about it.

You see, you should live life on your own way because at the end of the day you are your longest commitment. Accepting yourself for who you are is needed to set up yourself up for a happy life.


3. Learn To Let Go

Something which is very important and that you’ll need to do a lot of in your life is: letting go. For example, you need to let go of your high school friends when all of you go to different universities or when a when you’re in a bad relationship which you know you should let go of.

There are countless examples of the things we need to let go of in life. A lot of people are struggling with this and try to desperately hold on to something that they need to let go of.

As a consequence they start to feel sad and from there one it can only become worse.

What you need to realize is that sometimes holding on is more painful than letting go.

By letting go you’re able to embrace new opportunities which can improve the quality of your life better than you could’ve imagined.


Hopefully, you’ve realized that happiness is not something that is difficult to attain. It’s something that’s within all of us and that you can create and unleash without needing the approval of others.

There are no exceptions to this rule, all the positivity that you create in your life can only come from one source: YOU!
